The one lost sheep is enough for me to be FULLY distracted, to go after the one, even though the 99 are fine. It’s a righteous “distraction.”

I have been fighting a long time, as you can see in my recent posts, to make sure our disciples are taught the true gospel. (Progressive Christianity/false teacher posts)

I knew once I gave it my best attempt of fighting, I would eventually weep. Yesterday was the day. I wept.

That doesn’t mean a new fight for the faith won’t start today.

As I drove home, yesterday, I had my music on shuffle. One of my favorite songs, “Elohim” came on.

Though I won’t talk about the disciple I wept over yesterday….there are many I could weep over. Many have strayed, been deceived and traded in truth for a lie.

“Elohim” was written and sung by Marty Sampson from Hillsong. He publicly announced he was leaving the faith at the end of last year.

The post, captured by HuffPost on Aug. 23, (2019) reads in part:

To the CHURCH of Jesus Christ, I forgive you, and I LOVE you. I’ve got tears running down my face because it’s so true. I adore you Christians. I love you SO MUCH. That’s all. It was amazing being one of you, but I’m not any more.

As I was already weepy yesterday, that song came on and I thought of Marty. I thought there was a time he wrote those words and meant it.

I want you to listen to his song.

As you listen, I would like you to pray for the Marty’s in the faith. Weep over those who have strayed, been deceived and traded in the truth and the conviction they once had for a lie.

Here are Marty’s words in the song he wrote.

I stand upon the solid
Rock of faith in Christ
This steadfast hope shall not
Break apart within the trial
I am assured His promises will never fail
As long as life remains He is faithful

God is patient
God is kind
He does not envy
He does not boast
His ways are higher than my own, His thoughts consume the great unknown
Of this alone I am sure
My God is love

I draw my breath under His created windswept sky
I know my hope shall last
Long after my flesh retires
From dusk until the dawn He calls His children home
His righteous love outlasts generations

He is Almighty God Elohim
Maker of the earth, He is the Lord of hosts, Heaven’s King
God of endless worth, His kingdom stands above Every power
Every living soul, His love is like the sun
Ever true, shining over all
