When I look for a model to follow for prayer, healing, casting out demons, witnessing, loving, forgiving, fasting, and really how to live…I look at Jesus.
Ya’ like, “But that’s JE-SUS, TT!!!!”
And I’m like “EX-ACT-LY!”
Did Jesus witness to people of who He was, what He came to do and teach people without follow up?
Yup.
So does that mean I should go and do likewise?
Yup.
Does that mean I never disciple?
Nope.
Jesus did both so TT will do likewise.
He held 12 close for 3 years and a ton of other people for a moment…yet influenced both groups.
I would guess from observing people who believe that you must disciple everyone you share with that they eventually stop witnessing all together because the demand to disciple all of them is overwhelming.
Overwhelming = doing nothing.
That’s what I’m afraid of…that conclusion…nothing.
What would have happened to the Ethiopian Eunuch with that kind of thinking?
Philip like “Nah, Spirit, don’t snatch me up like dat. Bro just got baptized.”
The demon delivered man? He just got free FREE…..like real FREE and was like “Jesus, can I go with you?” And what did Jesus do?….He summed up his discipleship training in one sentence “Go tell everyone what I did.” So he did and that was the end of that story.
The women at the well? She went on to be the first evangelist. The town begged him to stay. He stayed all of 2 DAYS!
Woman caught in adultery went through the program called… “Go and sin no more.” And He out.
All the people Jesus healed on the way.
All the people raised to life.
Did Jesus do ministry on the way. YAS! All day er day.
Did He tell us to go and make disciples?
Yup.
It’s both.
Just make sure you’re doing BOTH and not on the side lines poppin’ pop corn with the critical crippled doing nothing.
Jesus only did what the Father told Him to do and only spoke what He was told.
I’ll go and do likewise and teach my disciples to do the same.
