In 2000, I was saved. Not prayed-a-prayer-and-never-changed kinda prayer. That’s not a prayer, that’s just talkin’ to yo self. When you interact with the living God, the resuscitation paddles come out and shocks you back into real life. That kinda saved.

After that, there was a girl, from our church, who brought 600 pictures of Nepal to dinner one night. Yes, before digital cameras were a thing and iPhones were yet to surface. She said she did a “DTS” with “YWAM.”

Those acronyms sounded like a foreign language.

The next time I saw her, I asked her what that meant. She said she did a “Discipleship Training School” with “Youth With a Mission.”

I also wanted to do that, so after completing nursing school, I took boards and flew to Australia in 2002 to do my DTS with YWAM.

It was there that I heard about “the Wave” that would happen years later where we would bring the gospel to America. I wanted to do that too.

So in 2005, I flew to Cali and met up with 35 other humans to go on a 50 state road trip in 2 retirement shuttle vehicles and a few other cars in our convoy to do “The Wave.”

I made it to all 50 states….yes, Alaska and Hawaii too…on the Wave. It was a hard but great trip. You face your own giants when you’re in your own land. You kinda get blind-sighted by some of them while some are blatantly obvious….those being the ones you have overcome.

We ministered at a state fair in North Dakota, flew to Hawaii with hardly any money and no where to stay, ministered to the homeless in Austin, talked with an Elvis impersonator in Las Vegas and made a point to pray in every state capital.

Never in a million years…even though I am only 41…did I dream that in 2016, God would birth an idea in me to start World Race America. But He did.

And if you know TT….when God speaks…I listen. And obey.

Seeing World Race America go out for the first time in 2019 and complete their 11 month journey was bewildering.

I want to show you a picture.

I want to tell ya gurl in the green shirt, at age 27, that “God is using this year for something so far in the future that you can’t even see yet. Yes, it is hard. Yes, you are facing giants you never faced. Yes, you are coming against familiar giants, but you are taking ground. You are praying in every state capital. You have no idea the impact that January-December 2005 had on a nation….and on your destiny.”

But I had to live it. I didn’t know what the future held. That is why we can trust Him in the present. It’s the only place to live…alive…knowing His track record is one hun-ded for Him working together ALL things for the good of those who love Him.

Not those who pray a fire insurance prayer. But those who have decided the first and greatest commandment of loving Him with our whole heart, mind and soul is a hard YES.

I had to get saved. I had to see a girl holding 600 photos. I had to fly to Aussie Aussie Aussie….oi oi oi…to hear about something that would happen in the USA. I had to go on the 50 state trip myself to believe it could be done.

And then I had to have the faith in the still small voice of God in 2016 to see His dream birthed in 2019.

Or was it birthed in 2000? I dunno…either way…I came alive and living things bear fruit. Seeds get planted all along our life that we may not see the fruit of until 14 years later. 2005 was the seed to 2019.

What if we trusted God with the 14 years in the future and just enjoyed the journey? He wastes nothing. He’s like me. I don’t like to see food thrown away. Leftovers are my fave. God is wasting nada…zilch…nothing if you will trust His process.

Today’s “hard but great” trip could be your future dream.
