Driving home yesterday from North Carolina and went a new way to be able to drop off a birthday present for my niece, who was at the lake with her dad.

My gas was getting lower and lower and no gas station in sight. I was praying. Mountain roads for days and TT following GPS.

Finally, with about 19-20 miles left in my tank, a gas station appears. Yep, they could charge 1.99/gallon, much higher than most places right now. But I was so thankful to get TO a gas station.

You had to pay the cashier inside, as it was one of those old school tanks without a credit card insert.

So thankful for the old school, as I may not have met Ar.

He rung me up and made a comment about the Coronavirus, as a I recall. I said “All I know is God is in control.” He agreed. So I said “Oh, are you a Christian too?”

Ar: No, I’m Hindu.

TT: Are you from India?

Ar: Yes. I believe all gods are the same. All are one. That you get what you deserve.

I told him how I became a Christian 20 years ago. That Jesus died on the cross for the forgiveness of your sins so you don’t have to get what you deserve.

He said something to the extent of that being a crutch with Jesus covering sin….that people will get what they deserve.

When I realized, he wasn’t biting….I decided to see if he wanted a Bible.

Ar: Oh, no, I don’t even have my own book. I don’t read religious books. I just believe it is all the same. Same god.

This is the case with so many. I recently heard that only 5% of Christians ever read the Bible all the way through.

It makes sense why so many narratives are out there that people believe.

We make God in our own image in ignorance.

It makes us feel good.

It makes us relative and not stepping on anybody’s toes.

And it is the relative culture we live in.

As far as it depends on me, I will continue to make disciples who read and study the word thoroughly and know what they believe. Not only will they believe a true story based on evidence, but can give a reason for the hope they have.

“For the death He died He died to sin, once for all,

but the life He lives He lives to God.” Romans 6:10.
