Glad you asked.
God led me to fast and pray for revival in America from March 1, 2019 to February 28th, 2020. 365 days.
He encouraged me from the life of Frank Bartleman, who fasted and prayed a year before revival broke out in California in the early 1900’s.
I knew at the end of the fast, we would see revival in America with persecution.
The first case of the Coronavirus was on January 20th in the USA.
The first fatality from the Coronavirus was February 29th in America, the day after my fast finished.
God told me the scripture for World Race America was from Jeremiah 4. That if we would repent of our idolatry the nations would be blessed.
As a nation, we love health, wealth and prosperity.
All three are being threatened with this coronavirus and we are freaking out as a nation.
In the midst of it, God is telling me to get a home and that I will be working with Adventures in Missions for the long haul. That seems crazy, but I don’t make decisions in fear, but in faith.
He is calling me to have a Joshua and Caleb spirit in the midst of this revival. When people’s false gods are stripped, they start looking toward the real God. And I can’t wait to be a part of sharing the gospel with hungry people.
My current prayer is that none of the 8 country/ 8 state mission trips will be cancelled due to the Coronavirus. I want to get to where I can share Jesus.
But I have an “even if” prayer going. Like “worse case scenario” I get the Coronavirus and die, it’s still the best case scenario. I see Jesus. Don’t fear what can kill the body, but not the soul. I win either way.
I even thought, if it gets really bad, and I can’t travel, I would love to use my active nursing license and help others who are sick, even if it means I get the virus myself. I would love to meet people in their greatest fear and share the love of Christ with them.
So, what do I think of the Coronavirus? I think it’s a wake up call for the world.
God is in control.
As I read this morning in my Bible, I read about a plague God started in Numbers 16. I read of Aaron standing in the gap and the plague stopping. 14,700 had already died. (Numbers 16:48)
So in the midst of this plague, I am responding in faith. I am responding with a Joshua and Caleb spirit that says there are for sure giants in the land, but we can do it! Faith to believe for longevity in missions and even a home in an economic crisis. Faith to believe revival comes with persecution. Faith to believe that I can stand in the gap. Faith that even if the “worst case scenario” happens, it’s my best case scenario.
So fear has no hold on me.
Whether I get it, don’t get it, nurse people with it, go to 8 states and 8 countries this year or not….I will sit here and praise God that He told me before this started, that if America would get rids of her idols, she would be a blessing to the nations.
