We just finished debrief in West Virginia with World Race America. This will be our last debrief as just F squad. July 1st, my international squad : B squad, will join WR America in a 2nd van and another returning international squad (due to Covid) will be joining in a 3rd van on August 1st.
Yesterday, we got to go see our WR America participant, Delaney, that had to leave the field early, in her hometown in Point Pleasant. We got to meet her extremely generous and hospitable family and enjoy her downtown area.
We walked into the “Mansion House” and met Michelle who worked there.
Gisele and I shared the gospel with Michelle. She said she knew something was different about Gisele when she walked in. (LOVE when that happens!) I gave her a chance to accept Jesus but she said she had….with some hesitation. We encouraged her and prayed for her. Mark and Kathy, our coaches, all chimed in with encouragement for Michelle.
Tonight we had our honoring time for Gisele, who has finished her time as a squad leader on WR America. I cried as I watched and listened to the team honor her by words of encouragement and washing her feet. She WAS and IS such a gift to all of us with WR America.
Thankfully Gisele has felt (from God) to continue with WR America and help me in the office to develop the program more! She carries the vision of the program like I do and I consider this an honor and privilege to continue working alongside each other.
WE prayed in WR America’s new leader, Andrew (originally from S squad last year) who will now lead the team. We also got to wash his feet and pray over him.
I capped the night telling the team how well they LOVE.
They are incredible and exactly what America needs in this hour. Humility and love filled with truth. Please pray for WR America as they head to Kentucky today. I will take Gisele to the airport and then drive back to Georgia!
