B squad, the coaches and I are camping for the weekend in Colorado Springs.
As they were putting up their tents, we couldn’t help but notice the guys beside us setting up his dragon that he says he brings with him everywhere. He just so happened to place this gigantic plastic structure on top of his camper facing our campground with the dragon head pointing towards us.
I’m like “Not tah-day satan.”
I had just read this morning where Josiah destroyed all the false gods of the land by smashing them or burning them with fire. Eva and Ryan both prayed for the head of the dragon to fall off .
Well guess what happened? The head JUST fell off!!!! You guys, you can’t make this stuff up. It’s straight up like the story of Dagon falling in the temple.
So, Eva and I went back to see this guy later. We walked straight up to their camper….head of dragon still off….and asked if we could hang out.
They invited us into their camper, but the dragon owner was not there as he was out buying more drinks.
His girlfriend “E” was there and it is her birthday this Sunday. “M” was also there, both girls in their later 20s. Eva and I sat down on their bench. You could smell the weed in the air, as it is legal to smoke marijuana here.
Don’t worry, I didn’t say anything about how I get high too…on da MOST HIGH.
“M” had no faith at all. I asked to hear her story and she told us her mom had 4 kids by 4 different fathers. Her stepdad and mom raised her and they were drug addicts but now clean. Her brother died from cancer and one of her sisters took the kids to take care of. “M” just got back from a trip seeing the kids and her sister and brother in law. “M” said they were “faithful” and kinda nudged to us as if to say “like you guys.”
She said her sister and brother in law have a routine every night where they do a play with the stuffed animals, read the adopted kids a bedtime story and pray with them.
TT: Oh so they are Christian?
M: Yes and she just gave me a Bible. I have been searching out all religions and I think it is crazy that you guys showed up at our door today.
I encouraged her that if she seeks, she will find.
“E” told us how she has no faith, was raised in the church and then her parents got divorced. Her mom is now Wiccan. We shared our testimonies and the gospel with “E”. She listened intently, but does not appear ready to accept Christ.
As we left the trailer and were leaving, a girl, “K” compliments me on my bell bottom jeans. Her eyes are glazed over and I wasn’t sure if she was high or drunk. It seemed very hard for her to complete a cohesive thought and then walks up her friend “Er” with eyes slightly glazed that also compliments me on my outfit.
I notice that “Er” has a tat of a cross on her back. “K” eventually goes to the picnic table to eat. Then Eva and I got to share with “Er” for maybe an hour. She told us she was raised Catholic and now she is spiritual. She goes to a spiritual gathering center where all religions are talked about so whatever you need for the day, they will read from.
She talked about her story with us. I heard that still small voice say “Ask her about her butterfly necklace.” She told us how the caterpillar has to struggle in the cocoon, otherwise it won’t know how to fly.
I told her about John 3 and Jesus saying you need to be born again. She was in awe that she didn’t know that concept was in the Bible but believed it. We concluded our time praying for her. I heard that still small voice say “Tell her the fullness of understanding Me is coming.” So I told her and she said someone said something similar to her too.
I said to “Er” “Jesus said, I am the way the truth and the life and no one goes to the Father except through me.”
This is America. People are believing in nothing, mixing it all together and a living a “you do you boo” culture. If I was steeped in this deception, I would have to drink and smoke my way out of this imposture too.
God can literally make any idols in our life fall….but if we wake up out of our slumber we have medicated ourselves in, we will find Him. We will see clearly who the real God is. Then we can start living a full life in Him
Please pray that God will continue to give us opportunities to be a light in our dark nation. Thankful there are still so many faithful ones out there.
Be bold today. Be courageous. Share the gospel. Give the freedom that can only come from relationship with Jesus.
