Today was day 4 of driving the RV back from Washington State to Florida.

Currently, I am in Iowa at a campground.

The toilet decided to clog today. I went to Wal-mart to get a plunger and felt to wait until I got to the campsite to plung. Thankful I did because that brown water filled the bowl.

I looked in my manuals for what to do and there was no info. I had watched some You Tube videos too and consulted my nephew who has an RV.

And then I did what I’m not afraid to do….I asked for help from the camper parked next to me.

He is a 63 year old man traveling with his wife.

“J” told me about how he could tell me what I shoulda done. He said “You need to empty it every day. You need to fill it with water.” He repeated that over and over again. He started to get rattled and I wasn’t sure if we hit a trigger point with him or a flashback of his dad berating him….but he got flustered.

His wife, “D” said she would take me to the man who worked in the RV park to see if he could help. She was gentle and kind asking what I was doing on this trip. I told her I was coming back from being with WR America and how we ministered to the homeless, etc.

I met John, who worked for the RV park. He told me to stick a stick down the toilet and to go grab a sturdy one from the fire pile of wood.

I take the stick and sure enough, as soon as I stuck it down, the whole thing cleared immediately and ya gurl has an unclogged toilet. THANK YOU JESUS!!!!

I thanked John too.

I went out to try to empty my black water tank and “J” realizes it was fixed….so I think it made him feel relieved. He invited me to come sit with him and “D” at their camp-side fire. Told me to bring a chair.

I knew this was Jesus.

I see You Jesus.

Clogged toilet for today = meet this couple.

It was already 8pm, so TT rallied the troops, pulled herself up by her bootstraps, made some dinner and took it over to the fire pit with my chair.

They were SO INTRiGUED by my life. It didn’t take long to realize they were NOT Spirit filled born again believers HOWEVER, they loved hearing from one.

“What was your favorite country?” D asked. I told them about Iraq and all about it.

J couldn’t get over that. He said “I watch the news and I know what happens in the Middle East. I would never want to go there.”

He also said we are all travelers in here (the campground) and we would love to do what you are doing.

I shared Jesus in story the whole time by that fire. How He radically changed my life. How He worked in other’s lives.

Around 9:30pm I said goodnight. I asked if I could pray for them for anything. D refused it and said “Keep doing good to those who need it. We don’t need anything.”

You do.

But maybe tonight was just to get the fire started.

I look at them and said “You know I met David because my water heater wouldn’t work the first night of my trip and I met you two because my toilet was clogged. It wasn’t about the water heater or the toilet, it was about meeting you. I believe God has an over-arching plan in all of this. I count it a blessing.”

And with that, I grabbed my chair and walked over to my RV parked next to theirs.

Thank God for things that are full of crap.

If we can get past it all, we will realize He is never without a bigger picture plan.
