Last year, I did a social media fast for a month and LOVED it!

But the Lord told me once that month was up to get back on.

He told me this was my platform and I am a light in the darkness on social media.

This year, I wondered what, if anything God would have me fast or do once my year long #jesusfast finishes on March 1, 2020.

When I asked “Do you want me to get off social media?” I kept hearing “Yes.”

That didn’t make sense to me from last year’s response.

But 2020 is different. He has me speaking on Covenant. He wants clear focus in 20/20. He told me right before I heard to get off social media, that the world is my platform and I will walk on it. In 2020, He said to “Feed the Hungry.” To shake the dust off my feet from those who don’t receive HIS message.

So it makes sense.

I will still blog. Please subscribe now, if you haven’t, as I won’t be posting my blogs to social media. I will do videos on my You Tube Channel. You can subscribe to it too.

The day He confirmed I will be going off social media for a year, He said “Let the land rest.” This Biblical concept in Exodus 23: 10-11 and Leviticus 25: 1-7.

For six years you are to sow your fields and harvest the crops, but during the seventh year let the land lie unplowed and unused. Then the poor among your people may get food from it, and the wild animals may eat what is left. Do the same with your vineyard and your olive grove.”

Speak to the Israelites and say to them: ‘When you enter the land I am going to give you, the land itself must observe a sabbath to the Lord. For six years sow your fields, and for six years prune your vineyards and gather their crops. But in the seventh year the land is to have a year of sabbath rest, a sabbath to the Lord. Do not sow your fields or prune your vineyards. Do not reap what grows of itself or harvest the grapes of your untended vines. The land is to have a year of rest. Whatever the land yields during the sabbath year will be food for you—for yourself, your male and female servants, and the hired worker and temporary resident who live among you, as well as for your livestock and and the wild animals in your land. Whatever the land produces may be eaten.”

I thought about the poor being able to eat. The poor realize they are hungry. The servants are able to rest. I can focus on another field, which is in part, this blog to speak about Covenant.

This year is about me “Fearing God and living.” On Facebook and Instagram, about 99% of the comments, etc I receive are very encouraging. In fearing God, I will not be fearing man. Fearing man comes packaged in not only accusations but accolades also. He wants all my affirmation to come from Him alone in learning to fear Him.

I have been on Facebook since May 6, 2008 and on Instagram since January 14, 2012. It’s time to take a Gap Year.

God always has a reason for what He asks us to do. I sensed it was to let the soil rejuvenate. That way, my soil on the platform of Facebook and Instagram would be full of nutrients to produce a harvest of 30, 60 and 100 fold.

I read in Caroline Leaf’s book about the lack of nutrients in our fruits and vegetables from improper farming.

As I researched it more….I looked up “What happens when the land isn’t allowed to rest?” I read that the Dust Bowl of the 30s came because the land was constantly farmed and the nutrients of the land was depleted to a point that it could no longer support vegetation.

In the 20’s, with the advancement of technology, many became farmers. They got John Deers and combines. They harvested wheat and plowed up millions of acres. Drought came and all the wheat died, because it didn’t have good roots. Then the dust bowl came, which was America’s greatest drought in 1,000 years, affecting 46 of the 48 then States.

America’s greatest drought.

And I was thinking NO WAY, Levi Lusko talked about the Dust Bowl at Passion!

He emphasized how what we did in the 20s affects what will happen in the 30s.

I would say we are thirsty as a nation now. We are again in the 20s.

Social media is the new advancement in technology much like the John Deer. Everyone got a microphone and a voice just like many became farmers.

We speak too quickly in America. It only takes a click to plant a seed. What we are sowing, we are reaping. Wheat that has no roots died quickly in the drought.

We need to let the land rest every 7 years. Otherwise, the improper use of the field will lead to a huge drought. One that will hurt many and probably already has.

God knows what He is doing when He said every 7th year, take a break.

Teresa means harvester. It’s what I do. I will allow my Facebook and Instagram accounts to lie fallow for a year. There is a lot of fruit on there. That is why I am keeping it open. You can eat off it while I am gone. I’ll be back.

But for now, I need to sow in new fields. Plowing up the grounds of covenant.
